Abstract

After the socalled death of LatinAmerican "desarrollismo", where are Development Theories going to? Did the equalization between development and industrialization mean a kind of urban bias, and the neglect of agrarian and rural development? What is the current significance of a reform of the agrarian structures? Does land reform have a place in the new visions on development, which emphasize the role of knowledge in the new economy? Which is the place of rural development in the experiences of the newly industrialized (and peripheral) countries? What "face" would have a new project of development?
