Haschak's valuable compilation is the first book-length checklist in the English language devoted solely to the general literary criticism of individual Utopian/Dystopian plays, short stories, novels, novellas, and prose tracts. It provides citations to criticism not only of major and minor Utopian/Dystopian works, but also to works that are partially Utopian in nature and to works that, while not strictly Utopian, might be read, in one form or another, as such.
Access to citations is simple enough. Writers of different nationalities and periods are listed in an easy-to-use, alphabetical arrangement. Citations for some writers begin with a section labeled "General Criticism" ; citations for each author's Utopian/Dystopian works are then listed in alphabetical order.
