Introduction
It is well established that the rs7903146 variant in the transcription factor 7-like 2 gene (TCF7L2) is associated with type 2 diabetes (T2D) [1]–[4]. The TT genotype at rs7903146 also predicted progression to diabetes in the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) [5] and the Finnish Diabetes Prevention Study [6].
