Abstract

The semiotic analyze does not limit itself to the only analysis of the mimesis (iconicité), but integrates into its field of study all the constituents of the image and plan "as facts of language and effects of structures". Defined as the study of the processes of interpretation of the signs, the theory and the semiotic methodology suggest procedures of construction of the allowing sense, on one side to identify, to decipher the message codified by a visual or textual work to part, and by another side, of putting them in correspondence and so establishing a kind of dialogue between various forms of representation, diverse artistic codes: textual/visual speech. Within the framework of this "dialogue" the painting creates its own symbolism of the biblical myth of Cain and Abel. The narrative developments of the myth by the paint are in keeping with the subject, such as it is defined by the text of the biblical text, accent put on the legibility of the "literary" painting, more or less enslaved to the text - in the legible.
