Abstract

Removal of the calcifications is usually difficult and unsuccessful [2]. [...]intrathecal drug delivery using a pump can be considered a less destructive and reversible alternative. In clinical trials, intrathecally administered bupivacaine in combination with morphine, hydromorphone, fentanyl and clonidine has proven to be efficient and therefore recommended in the 2012 polyanalgesic algorithm for intrathecal therapies in nociceptive and neuropathic pain [3].
