PITTSFIELD -- Frank Crinella may be one of the hottest hitters in the Futures League right now. He certainly is the hottest hitter on the Pittsfield Suns.
Crinella's three-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning keyed a big rally for the Pittsfield Suns, as they beat Wachusett 5-2 on Sunday at Wahconah Park.
The infielder, who came into the game batting .444 in the last seven days, has now hit six doubles out of 13 hits in the last week.
The Suns, who dropped a 13-10 decision at Martha's Vineyard on Saturday, seemed a little weary at the plate to start the game.
Wachusett starter Nick Filloramo held the Suns in check through the first six innings, pitching shutout baseball on only three hits. His Dirt Dawg offense staked him to a 2-0 lead, scoring single runs in the second and third inning.
