Dexter Filkins' The Forever War is an incredible non-fiction novel that clearly exposes the human aspect of the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. As a renowned journalist for the Los Angeles Times and New York Times, Filkins offers a view of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan that is filled with emotion and an understanding of both sides that is normally lacking in other war classics.
