AFORMER chef believes he has cooked up a way to improve an Oldham school.
David Hayes left the kitchen to retrain as a teacher and is now in charge of the Oasis Academy Oldham.

The dad-of-two, who specialised in high-class French cuisine, is turning around the fortunes of the 1,200-pupil secondary, which was last year slated by Ofsted.
This summer, the school clocked up what is thought to be the region's biggest improvement in results.
Around 50 per cent of pupils gained five A*-C GCSEs, including English and maths, up from 33 pc previously.
