Canadian independent power producer Boralex Inc. sees opportunities for growth, but mainly in France.
The Quebec-headquartered company's power generation portfolio includes small hydroelectric facilities in Quebec and New York, plus one in British Columbia. It also has a 90-MW wind facility in Ontario and 11 small wind farms in France. Projects under construction include the two-phase Seigneurie wind farm in Quebec, a small hydro facility in British Columbia and three more wind farms in France.
During the company's third-quarter 2013 earnings call Nov. 6, Boralex President and CEO Patrick Lemaire, responding to an analyst's question, said there's no interest in the U.S. right now. "So, we're not looking at the U.S., let's say, active, at all," Lemaire said,...
