The three co-founders of the Launch Pad collaborative workspace in the Warehouse District want to expand their business model and bid for the Louisiana ArtWorks building when the structure goes up for sale next month.
Chris Schulz, Will Donaldson and Barre Tanguis say their plan aligns with the original concept for the 93,000-square-foot complex just off Lee Circle -- a collaborative working space for arts and entrepreneurship. Their concept will bring together traditional arts, digital media, graphic design, fashion, photography and theater under one roof.
"The creative economy is one of the keys to the future development of the city," Schulz said. "There are a lot of people moving to the city who have a lot of talent in the arts. We need to create a way for these people to build careers in the growing tech industry."
