Abstract

Conflictivity and gender violence in adolescents are worrying social phenomena that require an interdisciplinary approach. With a psychological perspective, this paper aims to explore the genesis of conflict and violence in adolescents relating discourse and self-regulation, and for it analyze psychosocial adjustment-maladjustment, delimits factors such as gender and group membership and detects the themes that guide the actions. It analyzes the discourse (2250 utterances) of 42 boys and girls (14-17 years) debating in groups, a conflictive dilemma gang and other on partner violence. The results show different effects of gender and group on the discursive self-regulatory, as an indicator of psychosocial adjustment, and the influence of sociocultural setting. Finally, the findings are linked with related disciplines. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
