Cummins-Wagner Co. Inc. has added companywide responsibilities for one of its local executives.
The Maryland-based distributor of industrial and mechanical equipment recently appointed Gregg Chalmers as chief operating officer. Cummins-Wagner acquired Rochester-based Siewert Equipment Co. in 2008.
Chalmers, who has been with the company for 18 years, had been vice president of operations. He now will be part of the company's executive team, involved in corporate strategy decisions. Chalmers also will have direct oversight of the firm's human resources and information, communications and technology departments.
He will split his time between Rochester and the company's Maryland headquarters. He had worked mostly here previously.
The company employs 36 people in Rochester and a total of 46 in New York, with additional offices in Williamsville, Erie County, and Troy, Rensselaer County. The New York operation...
