Two test pilings and an unmanned crane are at the site of the planned Tracage Luxury Living development, and it could be the extent of the work done on the property if opponents can stop the project.
A court injunction has been issued to stop construction until a recently filed lawsuit against the city of New Orleans is resolved.
The lawsuit is the latest effort from a group of residents who own lofts in the adjacent condominium complex, the Lengfield Lofts.
A previous lawsuit attorney and Lengfield resident Joshua Rubenstein brought against the city for issuing the original building permit was taken to the Louisiana Supreme Court, which upheld the city's decision to approve the project.
