BMIThe Beardwood Hospital, Blackburn, has welcomed the arrival of two new pieces of state-of the-art equipment - an MRI scanner and a CT scanner.They are the first of their kind to be installed in a private hospital in Lancashire and Cumbria.The installation of a GE Optima 660 64 slice CT scanner and a Siemens Magnetom Aera 1,5T wide bore MRI scanner will serve as the centrepiece of the hospital's new multi million pound diagnostic imaging centre.The new CT scanner will assist significantly with cardiac cases, offering quicker appointments and diagnosis, and will dramatically increase the cardiac scanning capabilities of the centre.The new MRI scanner will also offer a wider selection of routine and more complex imaging procedures for patients, as well as offering a more comfortable patient experience.
