Abstract

This paper studies electoral norms included in the Constitution of Cadiz of 1812. We study the immediate antecedent of this regulation, the instruction of January 1, 1810, and other elements. Then we study the constitutional forecasts in the electoral field, much more detailed as traditional in a Constitution. The elections took place on several levels: Electoral boards of «parroquia», Electoral boards of «partido» and Electoral boards of province. In each of which developed a specific procedure and ceremonial. The elections at different levels rather clarifies the concept of universal suffrage proclaimed in the Constitution of Cadiz.
