Abstract

There is a paucity of literature regarding the lived experience of assisted After-Death- Communication by bereaved adults. A descriptive phenomenological research study was conducted to explore the meanings bereaved adults attribute to such an experience. In depth data was collected through semi-structured interviews with participants. Assisted ADC was described as beneficial and healing by participants in bereavement situations, similar as in findings reported in studies conducted on spontaneous and facilitated ADC. The relevance of the phenomenon within the continuing bonds grief model was delineated. This research provides a basis for further research in related bereavement and ADC topics.
