Communities across Far North Queensland are safer and SES volunteers better supported following the opening of the new State Emergency Services (SES) headquarters in Cairns.
Mr Dempsey said the $2 million upgraded facility would be a bustling headquarters to house the Cairns SES vehicle fleet and assist local SES volunteers.
The Government has a strong plan for a brighter future for all residents from the Cape to Cairns and this new headquarters is part of that plan, Mr Dempsey said.
