BAND MEMBERS DINGZ AND SWANN ON PUNJABI MUSIC AND THE NEW SINGLE
Hailing from a musically rich background, Birmingham-based duo Moneyspinner have worked with big-name artists like Jaspinder Narula, Miss Pooja, Soni Pabla and Mika Singh.
Apart from producing hit songs for renowned stars, the talented beat makers have made a name for themselves on the live circuit and for working with new talent. Released under VIP Records, their latest single Chit Karreh features the vocals of debut artist Raaj-Inder.
Eastern Eye caught up with Dingz and Swann to find out about their musical journey, latest single, future plans and their interesting name.
How would you describe your time in the music industry?
Dingz: My musical journey started at a very young age and I can definitely say it's been one big rollercoaster. Since the early days, I have always been a part of the live bhangra scene. This led to meeting different artists and producers and messing around in studios. It has always been a great passion of mine to work in and around the industry. Music lets you express yourself through your own sound and we have always got a buzz out of making, listening and recording music. It was when we were at uni (a long time ago) that we made the decision to start recording and producing our own stuffas Moneyspinner. Since then we have worked and collaborated with some great artists, some of whom we would have only dreamed of working with before. So I can proudly say it has been an unforgettable and very enjoyable experience. Swann: From when we started to where we are now, it has been a fun time. Creating music is a dream come true.
What has been the high point for you?
Dingz: Personally, every release is a high point because of the effort that goes into each song. But one that sticks out is a track we released during Vaisakhi in 2011 called Sava Lakh. The response it...
