HOLYOKE -- North Adams SteepleCat J.C. Cardenas scored the game-winning run on a ninth-inning single by Jared Mederos as the Northern Division All-Stars scored a come-from-behind 4-3 win over the Southern Division in Sunday's NECBL All-Star Game.
Mederos was voted the game's most valuable player. Trevor Scott of the SteepleCats had a scoreless fourth inning on the mound.
The Southern Division had taken a 3-2 lead with three runs in the sixth inning. Three North relievers -- Jared Gessel of Vermont, Cam Hatch of Sanford and Benjamin Criscuolo of Keene -- shut the South down over the final three innings. That set up the ninth-inning rally at McKenzie Field.
