Abstract
In this paper, we focus on the annual variability of key climate parameters, mainly rainfall and temperature over a given period, and examine the patterns of these parameters and their influence on crop production. In particular, the paper analyses the sensitivity and exposure of the rainfed millet and sorghum production to the impact of climate variability, and the overall vulnerability of the three regions in Northern Ghana. Using climate, socioeconomic, and rainfed crop production data, the paper examines the exposure and sensitivity of millet and sorghum production, as well as the socioeconomic conditions that influence the vulnerability and adaptive capacity of the regions, to climate variability impact.
