Abstract
Sinfonietta para arcos, Op. 283 by Mario Alfagüell was composed in June 2013 and is dedicated to Rebeca and Esteban Barquero. This performing edition responds to the need for a version of the score that would allow for generation of parts and ease of reading so that the work may be performed with a limited number of rehearsals. The introduction provides an overview of Alfagüell's biography, style, and influences for an informed performance. Chapter 1 contains a description of Sinfonietta para arcos and an analysis of its overall structure, proposing a sectional organization. Chapter 2 contains a description of the editorial process, including critical comments (enumeration of editorial decisions and modifications). The conclusion includes a reflection on the performance edition after the premiere of the work in April 2014, proving the success of this edition. The appendix includes the facsimile of composer's manuscript and the edited score, as well as a recording.
