Abstract
Open Journal Systems supports activities related to editing and publication of scientific journals and may also provide a platform to house the journals as a portal of electronic journals. There is a tendency of journals to be aggregated in institutional portals in Brazil, so that 123 portals journals are analized. However, the presence of journal portals can not guarantee the quality of its publications, which can be measured by evaluating indexing systems. It is presented a survey of the journals hosted on portals listed on SciELO and Latindex, revealing a panorama of indexed journals in portals. Despite a greater number of criteria, Latindex appears to be more flexible, showing a greater amount of journals in its catalog, than those indexed by SciELO.
