Hotels gain revenue when certified under the LEED sustainable building program, reported Cornell University's hotel administration school, Ithaca, N.Y.
By comparing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified (LEED-certified) hotels with a competitive set of non-certified hotels, Cornell found "substantial" increases in average daily room rates and revenue per available room (RevPAR) for the LEED hotels.
