ABSTRACT
The ventilation process is considered to be the primary protection in underground exploitation of minerals. Due to this fact, it has major importance in ensuring and maintaining the health and safety conditions on the pathway of mine workings.
A fire resulting from the oxidation or from the burning of organic substances at low velocities, besides the harmful effect of the exposure to burning gas, the thermal effect resulting from the excessive increase of burning gas and organic substances temperatures, it also has an aero-motor effect upon the ventilation network, resulting in the forced intensification of the ventilation in the area of influence.
The fire changes the airflow conditions because it has a higher viscosity, fact which leads to the local increase of apparent resistance of the mine working in which the phenomenon occurs. In certain conditions it may lead to the local reverse of airflow, with harmful effects for the underground workers.

GEOLOGY OF THE DEPOSIT
The salt deposit from Praid is located in Transylvania depression.
Salt deposits from Transylvania basin are the following: Ocna Dej, Turda, Ocna Mureç, Ocna Sibiu, Jabeni^a, Sovata and Praid.
Corund-Praid-Sovata (Säcädat) salt structure is located in the contact area of the Transylvania basin with the neo-eruptive mountain chain of Eastern Carpathians, CälimaniGurghiu-Harghita, at the joint of Tâmavelor plateau with the GurghiuHarghita orogenic alignment. Salt massif from Praid has the form of a diapir pillar classified as discordant, it penetrates the surrounding Mio-Pliocene blanket and arises in positive relief at the surface. The ejective diapir body is flanked by sedimentary rocks which are partially covered by extrusive volcanic Post-Pliocene formations and by quaternary formations. Salt form Praid pillar has bulged the meadow and the terraces of Tâmava Micä and Corund valleys, creating a dome with a maximum height of 70 m and has a macro-crystalline or micro-crystalline shape impregnated with several impurities (clays, marl, sandstone, and crystalline limestone). ANALYSIS OF THE NETWORK OF MINING WORKS FROM PRAID SALT MINE
Opening works: Praid salt mine opens from the surface through a coast gallery which continues with an inclined plane. Opening the deposit in depth is performed through the blind shaft and through the inclined auto plane.
The deposit is opened for...
