Abstract

Carbon Sink; What Goes Around Comes Around, The Art Controversy; Censorship, Public Art, Science, Politics and the Environment in Wyoming Culture explores the controversy revolving around Carbon Sink; What Goes Around Comes Around by British land artist Chris Drury. Chapter 1 puts Carbon Sink in the context of land art and land artworks that were on display in the outdoor exhibit Sculpture: A Wyoming Invitational . Chapter 2 provides an analysis of the University of Wyoming Public Art Policy in the framework of the State of Wyoming Percent for Art Policy, Jackson Hole Public Art Policy and policies at universities nationwide. Chapter 3 considers the politicization of land art as a genre of public art.
