Abstract

New and experienced general education faculty members at a comprehensive community college were researched through a quantitative survey. The research aimed at understanding the job satisfaction and dissatisfaction factors and how they relate to the faculty members propensity to leave. Full-time and part-time faculty members were included in the population. The survey was sent to the entire population of 228, receiving a response rate of 43.4%. The data revealed that general education faculty population of this particular community college held an overall level of satisfaction with their job, which in turn gave them a low propensity to leave.
