A 17-year-old woman developed multi-drug intoxication leading to acute heart failure and multiple organ failure following an overdose of captopril, bisoprolol and amlodipine in a suicide attempt.
The woman presented 7 hours after an ingestion of captopril 875mg, bisoprolol 125mg, amlodipine 600 mg in a suicide attempt. She was admitted to an ICU in a moderately severe condition. She was noted to have abdominal pain, dizziness and weakness. Physical examination revealed a BP of 60/40mm Hg, a HR of 40/min and hypothermia. Her skin was moist and cold.
