Sometimes ufe just isn't fair. When she finished fourth on bars at the 2012 Olympics, China's Yao Jinnan gave up at least 0.2 in D-score to the medalists with her 6.8 set. Armed with a Mo salto last year, she improved to 6.9, but the risk backfired; she peeled off on the Mo in the final, and teammate Huang Huidan won the gold with the second-hardest set (6.6).
Entering Nanning, Yao again had a 6.9 routine, but no more Mo. Instead, she relied on combinations to build her D-score.
