Abstract

Global medical device market growth will remain steady in 2026, underpinned by sustained demand, innovation and positive macroeconomic outlooks in key markets. Tariff and procurement-driven pricing pressures on the medical device market will persist through 2026, accelerating reshoring and regionalisation. Regulation and reimbursement of AI-enabled medical devices will favour lifecycle oversight and evidence-linked access in 2026, with diagnostic imaging, wearables and surgical robotics as the fastest-growth areas. Market access will be more streamlined in 2026 amid regulatory reforms and harmonisation, but smaller manufacturers will face rising compliance costs. Landmark decisions on multi-cancer early detection blood tests in 2026 will drive a shift in population-scale screening, while reimbursement challenges for Alzheimer’s disease blood-based biomarker tests will limit uptake.
