Computers and peripherals is set to post a generally stable performance in 2014 with a retail value current growth rate of 4%. In terms of volume, the category will record growth of 0.2%. As competition is likely to intensify among various competitors, many key retailers such as Nguyen Kim Trading JSC are trying to offer the lowest possible prices in order to attract customers.Due to the economic slowdown during 2012-2103, many consumers showed a tendency to reduce their expenditure on unnecessary items like computers and peripherals due to a lack of budget. Therefore, manufacturers cooperated closely with big retailers such as Mobile World to launch various promotions and marketing activities to encourage greater spending by consumers. As such, despite their slowdown in retail volume sales growth in 2013, some products such as netbooks and laptops managed to register positive retail volume sales growth at the end of the review period. In 2012, Dell Vietnam Inc led sales of computers with 18% retail volume share. Its product Dell was quite popular in Vietnam due to its strong distribution network, as well as its diversified product portfolio. More importantly, Dell design suits Vietnamese consumers' preferences, and its price was also quite affordable.Demand for computers and peripherals, especially peripherals, will decline, as the category reaches maturity. The majority of consumers in cities and urban areas already possess and use computers and peripheral products, while demand for such products in rural areas remains low. In addition, there is limited product innovation. As such, computers and peripherals is predicted to record a retail volume CAGR of -1% over the forecast period, which will be lower than the review period volume CAGR of 6%.For more information on the "Computers and Peripherals in Vietnam" market analysis, see the latest research: Computers and Peripherals in VietnamFollow us on Twitter @CandMResearch
