Abstract
Soybean is one of the important global oilseed crops providing 20 percent oil and 40 percent protein. Above 80 percent the global soybean output is crushed to obtain oil and meat. There has been growing demand for soybean not only in domestic but also in international market. Due to perceptible change in consumption habits of urban population soybean possesses a very high nutritional valuable amino acid, lysine and good amount of minerals, salts and vitamins. The soybean crop generation does not require any irrigation during Kharif season. However one irrigation would be desirable in the Rabbi Season .During the last one and a half decades the domestic price of soybean has gone up significantly resulting in reasonable amount of profit in its cultivation. In this research paper study a comparative advantage of soybean crop area under cultivation, production yield in Ahmednagar district is attempted . The study is mainly based on secondary data.
