In just 70 seconds, the new Laff Trakk roller coaster at Hersheypark will take riders through high-banked curves, a 360-degree carousel and an aerobatic turn.
It's a 1,400-foot-long rush of adrenaline featuring free spinning cars and outward-facing seats that will rotate at speeds of up to 45 mph, dictated by the weight distribution in each vehicle.
In other words, if you're riding with someone who's frantic or afraid and they're all over you, Laff Trakk will notice and the speed of the ride in that individual car will react accordingly.
"Oh, it's going to be an amazing summer this year," said Kaylee Renee Dugan, a communications specialist for Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.
"We will welcome Laff Trakk, our 13th roller coaster and the first indoor, spinning glow-coaster in the United States," Dugan said.
The park opens for the summer season on Friday, May 1, but the Laff Trakk opens to the public May 23.
The $14 million roller coaster will seat four people per car, two on each side, back to back, with a pole in the middle that will permit the car to spin based on the weight of the passengers.
