Advanced Microgrid Solutions announced June 4 that the company has selected Tesla Motors Inc. as the primary technology provider for its utility-scale energy storage projects.
Under the agreement, San Francisco-based AMS will install up to 500 MWh of Tesla's utility-scale Powerpack batteries in its storage projects. It will also sign battery supply agreements with additional technology providers.
AMS said its first 10-MW Hybrid-Electric Buildings Project will be installed in Irvine, Calif., in 2016. These projects deploy large aggregated networks of battery systems in buildings located in areas where local utilities need real-time grid...
