Based in Melbourne, Dr. Low is the CEO of SQL Down Under and is well known for his SQL Down Under podcasts on SQL Server topics with guests that have included fellow SQL Server Pro authors Grant Fritchey, Allen White, and Kevin Kline as well as IT/Dev Connections 2015 Keynote Presenter Conor Cunningham; Partner Architect on the SQL Server Core Engine Team.
On paper Dr. Greg Low is probably one of the smartest individuals in the world to take up the SQL Server Pro banner. In person he's also one of the nicest and unassuming individuals you'll be lucky to meet. I first met Greg and his lovely wife and business partner Mai at a Friends of Redgate event in 2008. (The only reason I remember the year was because it triggered one of my first-ever blog posts that is embarrassing to read at this point almost seven years later.) I was lucky enough to be seated at the same table as Mai and Greg, Rodney Landrum, Grant Fritchey, Andrew Kelly and a few others. It was then when I asserted in this post eons ago that I was the Dumbest Person in the Room .
Greg is an internationally recognized consultant, trainer and author. He is a SQL Server MVP and a Microsoft Regional Director for Australia. Greg holds a PhD in computer science and is a Microsoft Certified Master for SQL Server. He is the author of a number of Microsoft white papers and is a sought-after presenter. Greg also blogs at sqlblog.com and has also volunteered in many roles for PASS over the years.
Greg will be writing articles for us each month and his first will release tomorrow. His posts, under the banner of NOTES FROM THE FIELD , will cover issues and solutions encountered in his role as a global consultant for SQL-based solutions.
