Abstract

[...]TS diminished abdominal visceral fat, cell size of adipocytes in visceral fat, and hepatic triglyceride contents. [...]TS increased the level of glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4) in skeletal muscle, Akt phosphorylation, and AMPK phosphorylation in liver and/or muscle. Consistently, B. pilosa increased fasting insulin. [...]combination use of B. pilosa with other antidiabetic agents had better glucose control than B. pilosa alone.
