The Reel Theatre has two new movie houses planned for Kuna and Caldwell.
Best known for its second-run movie theater in Nampa and the Northgate and Country Club theaters in Boise, The Reel Theatre also owns and operates first-run theaters in communities such as Ontario and Anderson, Calif.
Kuna and Caldwell will also get first-run theaters as those communities have no existing movie theaters, said Eldon Sorensen, business manager at the Boise-based Casper Management, which owns and operates the five-theater, 37-screen independent chain.
Caldwell and Kuna are Idaho's sixth and 14th largest cities and prime ground for planting movie options for residents so they don't have to drive to Nampa or Meridian for a night out. Each will cost "multi-millions" to build but Sorensen would not be more specific.
