Abstract

Automatic Identification System is an automated tracking system used on ships and by Vessel Traffic Services for identifying and locating vessels. Nowadays it is an important navigational aid for preventing collisions at sea. In this paper, we designed and developed a monitoring platform for distributed shipboard AIS based on the ARM microprocessor S3C44B0X and embedded real-timeμC/OS-II operating system. And we also achieved the implementation of GIS function using Visual C++ combined with MapX on host computer.
