The book is an impressive compendium of the current knowledge about the Solar System and planets. Planetary Sciences 2nd Edition by Imke de Pater from the University of California, Berkeley and JackJ. Lissauer from NASA-Ames Research Center is a 13-chapter book which introduces properties of the Solar System, physics of planets as well as smaller astronomical bodies. The second edition of Planetary Sciences was published in 2015 by Cambridge University Press and is an updated version of the rst release from 2001. Since the rst edition, the book has been revised, improved and enriched with additional materials. It includes information on the most recent discoveries in the eld of planetary sciences presenting the latest results obtained with many telescopes, the recent generation of space missions and rovers as well as many ground-based observational facilities.
