As a trainee approaching my final years and revising for the Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), the prospect of a book that contains the most important papers for the main subspecialties in general surgery appears to be the Holy Grail.
The book starts with an overview of research methodologies, which although familiar territory, was refreshing to read from a purely surgical standpoint. The chapter discussed the difference between surgical and drug trials, and study designs with the emphasis on how this works in surgical practice. A short summary of statistics may have been...
