Worth Venture Partners (WVP), an emerging manager hedge fund platform, has received a $100 million investment from Lombard International to its diversified portfolio of emerging hedge fund strategies, the WVP Emerging Manager Onshore Fund.
New York-based WVP was founded by Abby Flamholz and David Wertentheil. The $100 million investment from Lombard International is the largest single investment the group has received since its launch in October 2012, which has bolstered the group's total assets to $245 million across more than 20 emerging managers and three separate emerging manager focused fund vehicles.
For David Wertentheil, partner and co-founder of Worth Venture Partners the investment has increased the firm's size to the point where it now meets the hurdle for many additional investor groups. This is especially true among institutional investors and funds of hedge funds that typically seek assets under management in excess of $200 million when considering hedge fund mandates.
