IN MEMORIAM: DR. GLENN GOERKE

DR. GLENN GOERKE (University of Houston-Victoria), 84, was president emeritus of University of Houston, University of Houston-Clear Lake, and Houston-Victoria. He was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and Michigan State University. Goerke was involved in the creation of Florida International University, serving in positions including vice president for academic affairs and provost of Florida International's North Campus. Goerke was on the executive committee of the International Association of University Presidents and was vice president of the group; was president of the National University Extension Association; served in the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, American Association of University Administrators, and in many other groups. He died Nov. 13.
