Abstract
Control strategies for the micro-grid based on grid-connected photovoltaic (PV)-battery systems develop fast in recent years, which aim at improving the reliability and efficiency of PV-battery systems. In this thesis, a novel power management system is proposed to control PV-battery systems by controlling the voltage source converter (VSC), changing and discharging of the battery, and the PV maximum power point tracking (MPPT) generation. The proposed controlling system is able to balance the power flow among the PV, battery and the utility grid, and response quickly to change of load or operating irradiance.
There are there parts in the thesis, the first part of the thesis is from Chapter 1 to Chapter 3, this part introduces the components such as: PV panels, battery inverter and the controllers in the system. The second part of this thesis is described in chapter 4, which is the case study that analyzes the simulation results of several cases to verify the model. The third part of this thesis is chapter 5, that summarizes the conclusion.
