Abstract
While the number of people who commute by bicycle and enjoy leisure activities with bicycle has been increasing significantly, dozens of people have dead because of bicycle accidents. It has become a social issue. Since, in this paper, suggest special materials such as LilyPad Arduino Main Board and FTD1 Basic Breakout in order to prevent a bicycle accident. It can be expected that it helps to reduce the bicycle accidents, especially at night time when the cycle is invisible outside. Afterward, by using the rear accelerometer, It is developed a function that can light the red light by measuring the speed of cycle, or detach the directional signal on their own clothes.
Key words: LilyPad Arduinod, FTDI basic breakout, Conductive threads, Tactile push buttons
1. Introduction
South Korea has a very low bike modal share of just above 1%. About half of that 1% of bike trips are taken for leisure. The reasons cited are mostly for health, and preferred places to bike in are parks or the riverside. The major perceived barrier to cycling is that the cycling network is incomplete. Other perceived barriers are that cycling is dangerous, the high speed of car drivers, lack of secure parking, and badly signed cycle routes. The main things that attract people to cycling are that it's fun and environmentally-friendly, as well as healthy and makes them feel flexible and independent. Govenment released a new national initiative in 2009, the Comprehensive Plan for Green Growth, to promote cycling. The plan called for a bike modal share target of 5% for 2010, with an infrastructure target of 17,000km of cycling paths. It planned to link the bicycle industry with bicycle infrastructure (national bicycle network) to create "green growth". Legal/institutional changes such as safety regulations, and public awareness such as campaigns and education, were part of the strategy toward the goals, but the focus was on building infrastructure, specifically bikeways for utility cycling.
Bike injury stats are under-reported, because the police often don't even bother to write up a report if the cyclist or bicycle isn't seriously injured. In Texas for instance, the DPS gets reports only of crashes that involve motor vehicles and in which the motor vehicle sustains enough damage that it has to...
