Higher education internationalisation has long been a split domain between those who research and theorise, and those who practise. Over the last few years, several pieces of literature have successfully bridged this gap and the Routledge series Internationalization in Higher Education, edited by Elspeth Jones, has made a solid contribution. The latest book in the series, Comprehensive Internationalization: Institutional pathways to success by John Hudzik further adds to our body of knowledge on institutional internationalisation strategies, bridging the gap between theory and practice through the Editors deep experience in educational administration, and the use of a diverse set of case studies authored by leaders in the eld.
Part I comprises seven chapters, through which Hudzik expands his previous work in comprehensive internationalisation (CI) to build a broad picture of current state of international education from an institutional perspective. This includes examination of environmental factors, trends, motivations and barriers facing institutions.
