This research is important to both employees – maintain a livelihood, and employers – cut attrition costs and maintain compliance with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), as well as exploit the benefits employees with ADHD possess. An additional purpose of this research is to seek the successful experiences of adult workers with ADHD with the work environment. The theoretical framework is person-environment fit. People do better when they find employment that is more tailored to their specific abilities by accentuating the positive traits and deemphasizing their challenges. The inquiries include, the areas or interests an adult with ADHD has, challenges he or she has faced within the work environment, and the experiences the worker is still dealing with or trying to overcome. Key findings were that successful adult workers with ADHD have a journey man’s knowledge of their ailment and challenges. They know what their deficits are and what their benefits are as well. Conclusions are that each affected person must know about ADHD, how it affects them and develop processes to alleviate the negative aspects and prioritize the positive ones. After reading about other workers with ADHD and their experiences, hope is refreshed, self-esteem is restored, and an employee becomes valuable to the employer. It is wished that this research is repeated on a larger scale and many variables dissected such as economic status, age, gender, race, job type, etc. The implications for social change are that workers with ADHD can realize their value within the workforce and employers can see the value in an employee who has ADHD.
