Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the predictive effect of the perception of social self-efficacy on the emotional self-efficacy in adolescents. In the study, the relational screening model was used. The population of the study consists of adolescents, studying in 9-12 ongoing classin the Province of Malatya, Turkey. And, the sample consists of 682 adolescents, selected by the convenience sampling method. In the study, a questionnaire, Social Self-Efficacy Perception Scale, and the Emotional Self-Efficacy Scale were used for data collection. The structural equation model was used in the evaluation of the collected data. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22 and LISREL 8.5 programs. As a result of the research, a significant relationship was found between the social self-efficacy perception and emotional self-efficacy, and the perception of social self-efficacy was found to have direct and indirect effects on the emotional orientation, terms of regulation, effect of emotions, understanding and perception of emotions sub-scales through the implicit variable of emotional self-efficacy, and the perception of social self-efficacy was revealed to be a significant predictor of the emotional self-efficacy. In other words, the perception of social self-efficacy predicted the emotional self-efficacy in the positive direction.
