TEHRAN (FNA)- The comprehensive military campaign by Iraqi military forces to liberate the Northern city of Mosul from ISIL militants continued on Sunday with reports saying that the country's counterterrorism forces advanced further inside the center of the city of Mosul and managed to reach the Eastern bank of the Tigris River for the first time.

Iraq's counterterrorism forces advanced further inside the center of the city of Mosul and managed to reach the Eastern bank of the Tigris River on Sunday for the first time, a military spokesman said.
"The counterterrorism forces pushed back the ISIL terrorists from a bridge over the river," the Arabic-language media quoted Iraq's counterterrorism department spokesman Sabah al-Nauman as saying on Sunday.
