In a case series, three infants developed acne, shiny erythema, infection with Candida albicans and/or folliculitis [dosages and durations of treatments to reactions onsets not stated] following misuse of calcium hydroxide/olive oil [oleo-limestone liniment; OLL] [not all sexes and outcomes stated].
Case 1: A 4-month-old girl developed facial acne, infection with Candida albicans and erythema on her seat during treatment with topical calcium hydroxide/olive oil. The girl presented for consultation of her ongoing condition arm haemangioma. However, a clinical examination revealed monomorphic retentional acne on her face that had been developing for a month. Additionally, a shiny erythema of the seat was also noted. Her parents revealed applying calcium hydroxide/olive oil for the past 6 weeks for the cleaning of her face and seat several times a day, without any rinsing. Culture tests of the skin samples...
