Abstract

This article's main objective is to analyze the fourth conclusion issued by the National Truth Commission (CNV) in its final report, published in December 2014. It is about the recognition of the persistence of serious human rights violations in the democratic period. The CNV emphasizes that this perpetuation derives from the non-treatment of violations committed in the dictatorial context. Recurring to the theoretical framework of the German philosopher Walter Benjamin, more precisely his theses gathered in the oeuvre "On the concept of history", this article will propose a reflection on the political potentiality of the memory of the vanquished in the struggle against the current violence and oppression.
