While the names are changing, the owner of a family-owned chain of bowling alleys wants customers to know the game is still very much the same.
The chain of five bowling centers known as Maple Family Centers, is in the midst of a major rebranding. Currently, the company’s bowling alleys all have unique names. Among them are Farmingdale Lanes, Coram Country Lanes, Jib Lanes in Flushing, and Countryside Lanes in Clearwater, Fla.
Last month, its RVC Lanes in Rockville Centre was renamed Maple Lanes RVC, becoming the first of the bowling centers to be rebranded.
Eventually, the company will roll out the rebranding to the rest of its locations. The Florida location is next to make the transformation, becoming Maple Lanes Clearwater. Soon to follow will be Maple Lanes Farmingdale and Maple Lanes Coram.
Maple Family Centers’ owner John LaSpina said each rebrand costs between $20,000 and $25,000, mostly for new signage, uniforms and advertising. He told LIBN that he’s been planning the rebranding for a while because the effort honors the business’ 57-year-old roots.
